Newsmax Balkans learns: the Trump administration is ready to cancel the funding of international courts
The administration of US President Donald Trump began preparations for radical changes in American foreign and judicial policy, including the possible cancellation of funding for international courts and projects that have shaped processes in the Balkans for decades, Newsmax Balkans has learned.
According to information obtained by Newsmax Balkans from reliable sources close to the Trump administration, the process of preparing for one of the sharpest changes in American foreign and judicial policy has already begun in Washington - a complete or drastic reduction of the funding of international judicial institutions.
Our sources point out that over the past decades, the United States has invested "more than $100 billion" in international courts, specialized chambers and various judicial funds around the world.
The new American administration believes that this model is "outdated", politically compromised and financially unsustainable, especially because, as they claim, many of those institutions were used for the foreign policy goals of previous administrations.

According to senior officials, there is a clear position at the top of the new administration: America comes first and "should not interfere in the internal problems of other countries", especially when that involvement costs American taxpayers.
According to our source, funding for international courts could be completely suspended, while money would be redirected to domestic US priorities.
In an extraordinary world premiere that is generating excitement across global film and tech communities, the first-ever Nikola Tesla Film Festival will debut on January 7 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
According to this information, institutions that have played a key role in the Balkans for decades - specialized councils in Kosovo, international judicial projects in the region and a broader system of support for the judiciary that largely depended on American funds - would also come under attack.
Blinken and the old establishment
The Newsmax Balkans source states that in Washington, the role of former Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the wide foreign policy apparatus, which, as he claims, created a system of political pressure through sanctions, international judicial processes and a network of influence, is increasingly being discussed in Washington.

According to that information, Blinken imposed sanctions on regional leaders "who were not ready to follow American interests", which directly shaped political currents outside the US borders.
Legal and judicial institutions, including specialized chambers, were an integral part of that apparatus.
Our sources point out that the previous administration, led by Blinken and key figures from Biden's foreign policy circle, spent years building a complex apparatus of political influence in the Balkans.
Those mechanisms, according to them, were often shaped by personal interests rather than objective American national priorities, which, they claim, left a serious institutional mess.
