Since Monday evening, students participating in a blockade have been obstructing the entrances to the buildings of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) in Belgrade, while the blockade of Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) in Novi Sad has been lifted.
On their Instagram page, the students announced that the protest will continue until a public call is issued for the selection of members of the REM Council, or until “RTS is shut down.”
In a statement, RTS has demanded an end to the blockade of its buildings in Takovska and Aberdareva streets, as well as in Kosutnjak, and called for “an end to the pressure on the media.”
According to the latest global report by the World Bank, Serbia has ranked second in Europe and sixth worldwide in terms of progress in digital transformation, following South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Estonia, Brazil, and Australia.
