No healthcare or educational institutions supported by Serbia, nor any other structures in Kosovo that Serbia supports in order to provide essential social services, should be shut down, the EU told.
Commenting on the actions carried out by the Kosovo Police on Wednesday, the EU stated to Kosovo Online that the status of Serbian systems in Kosovo and Metohija should be resolved through dialogue.
"We have taken note that on April 23, the Kosovo Police conducted new operations against structures supported by Serbia. We are awaiting additional details to establish the facts. As previously stated, the status of these structures and the services supported by Serbia is to be resolved through dialogue and the normalization of relations," the EU spokesperson said in a statement.
To recall, on Wednesday the Kosovo Police raided the offices of the new public utility company in Strpce, followed by raids on the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund and the National Employment Service in Leposavic.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that this was another unlawful move by the Prime Minister of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Albin Kurti, aimed at dismantling the few remaining Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija.
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated at the UN Security Council session that the fundamental rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are not only being ignored but are being systematically dismantled, piece by piece.
