A protest titled The North Calls was held in Subotica, organized by students participating in the ongoing blockade movement.
The students announced a cycling tour to Zajecar and invited the public to join the major protest to be held in that city on May 24, two weeks before the first local elections since the start of the blockades.
The protest received nationwide support – in recent days, students from Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Sombor, Valjevo, Uzice, and Kula walked to Subotica, and some arrived by bicycle as part of the Circle Around Vojvodina action.
They were welcomed ceremoniously with a red carpet, flares, whistles, and applause from citizens. On that occasion, medals and certificates of appreciation were presented to them as a symbol of recognition for their effort and dedication.
