Congresswoman Tenney for Newsmax Balkans: My First Visit to Serbia Was 44 Years Ago, This Is a Great Honor for Me

"My first day in Serbia was in 1981 – that was 44 years ago, and it’s been quite a journey. I fell in love with the former Yugoslavia and everyone here, and I’ve continued a life-long interest in the region. So it is a tremendous honor for me to receive this order from President Vucic so many years later," Tenney stated.

The congresswoman also spoke about the current state of international relations between the United States and Serbia.

As a reminder, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic awarded her the Order of the Serbian Flag, First Class. Following the ceremony, she revealed that former U.S. President Donald Trump had told her in a phone conversation that he hopes to visit Serbia.
