At the beginning of the ceremony, Vucic stated that the symbolism of Vidovdan is not solely about martyrdom, suffering, defeat, and heroism, but it also directs us to the fundamental question: What are you willing to do for your country?
Vucic said that Serbs continue to commemorate their suffering and defeats, but that the time has come “to start celebrating life, to celebrate victories, and to continue winning.”

Among the honorees was Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Viskovic, while a letter of appreciation was awarded to the President of the Montenegrin Parliament, Andrija Mandic.
