At the invitation of the People's Movement of Serbia (NPS), a meeting of several opposition parties and non-governmental organizations was held in Belgrade to discuss election conditions, specifically the revision of the voter register, according to participants' statements after the meeting.
Except for the introductory portion, the meeting was closed to the public. Attendees included representatives from the Ecological Uprising, the Movement of Free Citizens, the Green-Left Front, Serbia Center, New Face of Serbia, the Freedom and Justice Party, the Movement of Dragan Milic from Niš, PODES, as well as representatives of NGOs such as CRTA, Birodi, CeSID, and Civic Initiatives.
Parties that did not participate included the Democratic Party, Kreni-Promeni, the NADA coalition, MI - Power of the People, MI - Voice of the People, ProGlas, the "Sloga – Expertise" parliamentary group, as well as representatives of student protest groups blocking faculties — although, according to NPS, they had been invited.
Rasa Nedeljkov from CRTA stated after the meeting that the goal was to hear different actors' views on the revision of the voter registry.
MP Borko Stefanovic from the Freedom and Justice Party said the talks would continue and remain open to other participants. Meanwhile, NPS president Miroslav Aleksic said a compromise must be reached, and that "there must be no divisions" regarding election conditions.
MP Biljana Djordjevic of the Green-Left Front described the meeting as a good start to an inclusive dialogue that could include those intending to take part in the elections.
According to the latest global report by the World Bank, Serbia has ranked second in Europe and sixth worldwide in terms of progress in digital transformation, following South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Estonia, Brazil, and Australia.
