New Rotation of Serbian Armed Forces in UN Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon

In accordance with the Annual Plan for participation of the Serbian Armed Forces and other defense forces in multinational operations, a regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent deployed in the “East” sector of the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon has taken place.

New Rotation of Serbian Armed Forces in UN Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon

In this sector, the Serbian Armed Forces deploy an infantry company, staff officers, and a group of specialists tasked with supporting the Serbian contingent, the Ministry of Defense announced.

Over the past six months, they have carried out all tasks responsibly and professionally within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), adhering to high standards of conduct expected from Serbian military personnel. Upon handing over duties to the new contingent, their mission officially concluded successfully, the statement said.

Serbia began its participation in the UN mission in Lebanon in 2010. In addition to the contingent in the "East" sector, a Serbian Armed Forces platoon for peacekeeper protection is currently deployed in the "West" sector of the operation.
