The focus of his visit is the upcoming EXPO exhibition, as well as broader cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and sports diplomacy.

Zampoli told Newsmax Balkans that the two countries already have a fantastic relationship,  with full support from the U.S. administration, but also an ambition to further deepen cooperation through concrete projects, from the development of hydroenergy on the Danube to investments in aviation infrastructure.

"I am in Serbia because the relationship that the United States has with you is absolutely fantastic. And I am here to show love and friendship and to improve this relationship. We are working very closely with all parts of your government, with our great embassy here, especially starting with EXPO, which we launched last week in Washington at the residence of Ambassador Dragan Šutanovac. Your finance minister was there. You have full support from the State Department", the U.S. special envoy emphasized.

"Everyone is welcome at EXPO"

He added that we will have a great EXPO 2027, with a lot of sports.

"We are expecting a very large attendance, and all viewers are welcome to come to Serbia, to the entire EXPO, but also to the American pavilion. That would be incredible. In addition to my mission for sports diplomacy and EXPO, global partnership is a very broad program", he said.

He added that they have great projects they want to implement sooner or later in the Northern Gate 3.

"And that includes hydroenergy on the Danube, which is also connected with Romania, we are starting cooperation signing in the coming days. We have geothermal projects that we really like. We look forward to cooperating with you regarding airports and aviation infrastructure", says Zampoli.

"People in Serbia love Trump"

He repeated that relations between Serbia and the United States are fantastic.

"People in Serbia really like us. They like U.S. President Donald Trump. That brings me great joy. I have been coming here since 2014. I met former Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, now the Minister of Internal Affairs, police and security, with President Trump back in 2014, at Mr. Donald J. Trump’s place", Zampoli concluded for Newsmax Balkans.
