As published in the Official Gazette, the new Regulation amending the Regulation on limiting the prices of petroleum products comes into force on April 24th.

At the beginning of April, the Government of Serbia adopted a new decision on an additional reduction of fuel excise duties, which are now 25th percent lower compared to what is prescribed by the Law on Excise Duties, in order to prevent a sharper increase in fuel prices.

According to that decision, the level of excise duties was further reduced from 20 to 25 percent below the legally prescribed level.

As previously published in the Official Gazette, in the period from April 10th to April 24th, 2026, the excise duty on unleaded gasoline is 54 dinars per liter, while for diesel it is set at 55.53 dinars.

In mid-March, the Government of Serbia adopted a decision on a temporary reduction of excise duties on petroleum products by 20 percent.

The Ministry of Finance had earlier stated that, due to rising crude oil prices on the global market, the state is taking on the burden and reducing excise duties on leaded gasoline, unleaded gasoline, gasoline in general, and gas oils (diesel).
