National Security Council: Six-Point Resolution Adopted – Dodik Will Not Be Arrested in Serbia
If the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina issue a warrant for the arrest of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik while he is on Serbian territory, he will not be arrested, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic following a meeting of the National Security Council.
In response to questions from Newsmax Balkans TV, Vucic emphasized that Serbian state institutions are obliged to adhere to the Council's decisions, one of which is the non-recognition of the Bosnian court’s ruling.
Vucic described the verdict against Dodik as anything but democratic, arguing it contradicts general legal principles and targets both Republika Srpska and the Serbian people as a whole.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a final ruling sentencing Milorad Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban from performing the duties of President of the Republic of Srpska, due to his failure to implement decisions of the High Representative.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax Balkans, former governor of the U.S. state of Illinois Rod Blagojevich and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik discussed, among other topics, the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Council unanimously adopted a six-point resolution. It was concluded that the political and security situation in the region is seriously destabilized, with a tendency toward further deterioration and the incitement of interethnic conflict, particularly against the Serbian population. The Council called on all regional actors to remain calm and approach the situation rationally.
The Council reaffirmed that Serbia’s primary diplomatic and legal objective will be the preservation of Republika Srpska in line with the Dayton Agreement, supported by a strong and ongoing campaign toward international organizations and key partners.
It was further stated that the Republic of Serbia will stand by Republika Srpska, international law, and justice.
