Jeff Bezos’s company Blue Origin launched a spacecraft into space from its base in Van Horn, Texas, carrying Turkish businessman Gokhan Erdem, whose wife is Serbian. As a result, he brought both Turkish and Serbian flags into space.

This marks the first time the Serbian flag has traveled into space.
The New Shepard NS-34 flight carried eight passengers, none of whom were professional astronauts.
Following successful missions by Turkish astronauts Alper Gezeravcı and Tuva Cihangir Atasever as part of the National Space Program, Gökhan Erdem became the third space traveler from Turkey.
Serbia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Dragan Sutanovac, welcomed Erdem at the embassy.
