The peak attendance was recorded between 11:52 a.m. and 12:08 p.m.
According to the Ministry, this represented the "peak of an unregistered public gathering."
After that, according to the Ministry’s statement, citizens began to disperse.
"Currently, a number of participants from the public gathering have gathered at the Quay of the Raid Victims," the statement said.
So far, there have been no incidents or security-related events during this public gathering.
Citizens from many parts of Serbia gathered in Novi Sad for the commemorative event, marking one year since the collapse of the canopy at the Railway Station, which killed 14 people immediately, with two more dying later in hospital from their injuries. More than 40 people were injured in total.
The tragedy in Novi Sad, when on November 1st , 2024, the canopy at the reconstructed Railway Station collapsed, still has no judicial outcome.
Although a year has passed since the event, the investigations and prosecutorial proceedings launched after the tragedy have not led to the start of a trial, and the public continues to seek answers about who is responsible for the deaths of 16 people.
