"We can launch one of the largest investments ever in Serbia this year and in the coming months, and we can become the first country in Europe to produce these kinds of robots," Vucic told journalists at the Chinese Cultural Center, where he attended a presentation of robots by AGIBOT Innovation.

He emphasized that this involves applied artificial intelligence and explained that it is not only about software, but also about hardware.

"Someone has to manufacture these robots, machines, joints, and all the other components, and all of that could be produced in Serbia. So there are three elements here: a robot factory; secondly, alongside a data center, we would also have so-called data factories. Why? Because these robots need around 100 million hours of training to perform their tasks. They are capable of making tea, making coffee, ironing clothes, doing laundry, and many other things. We will try to produce all of this here and be the first in Europe, and even to do all of this within this year," Vucic said.

He added that the plan is for Serbia to employ 8,000 people in the applied artificial intelligence industry by 2030.

"If everything goes according to plan, by 2030 we will employ 8,000 people in this industry. We will start with 500, and eventually reach 8,000. In addition to robot factories, we will also have so-called data factories, where humanoid robots must learn from humans and retain knowledge much like a human being," Vucic said.

He noted that Serbia is ranked among 39 global economies prepared for the application of artificial intelligence, but added that the country does not have sufficient electricity capacity.
