Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to Moscow for the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II.
"I invite you to participate in the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held in Moscow on May 9th, 2025. This date symbolizes the end of the most horrific war in the history of humanity. We pay great tribute to the heroism of our fathers and grandfathers and bow our heads before the many victims of Nazism. I am convinced that preserving the memory of this great victory will strengthen our shared resolve to oppose any manifestations of neo-Nazism and enhance constructive cooperation to ensure peace and security in the world. I would be sincerely glad to see you in Moscow," Putin wrote in his invitation.
Vucic and Putin last spoke by phone on October 20th of this year, and their most recent face-to-face meeting took place on October 17th, 2023, in Beijing during the international forum of the Chinese "Belt and Road" initiative.
