The National Assembly of Serbia adopted the 2025 budget
The Members of Parliament of Serbia have adopted the budget for the year 2025. The revenues of the national treasury for the next year will amount to 2,346.2 billion dinars, while the expenditures and outlays will be 2,660.2 billion dinars. The opposition did not participate in the voting.
As Finance Minister Sinisa Mali previously stated, the budget is both socially responsible and developmental, as it ensures continued growth for Serbia through significant investments.
Lawmakers from the ruling coalition and the opposition clashed in the Serbian Parliament after both sides held up signs and messages that provoked the other.
The projected economic growth rate for 2025 is 4.2 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and the budget deficit will amount to 3 percent of GDP.
The general government public debt is projected at 47.5 percent of GDP in 2025.
The budget provides funds for an 8 percent salary increase in the public sector, an 11 percent increase for educators starting next year, and a 10.9 percent increase for pensioners, starting with the pension for December of this year.
