First Indictments Filed in Connection with Case of 31 Children Found in House near Brcko

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed the first indictments in connection with the discovery of 31 children in a house in the Ivici neighborhood in the District area, Newsmax Balkans has learned.

So far, DNA analysis has confirmed the identities of 25 children, belonging to 14 parents, all of whom are under investigation.

The case involves the criminal offense of child neglect, and the indictments have already been confirmed by the Basic Court in Brcko.

All the children have been placed in safe houses in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among them are infants, which has further shocked the public.

Prosecutor Radmilo Ivanovic confirmed that certain investigative actions are also being carried out against the owner of the house, Zahida Djogo, and her son Alija, who have been in custody since February 25.

As a reminder, in February, 31 children under the age of 12 were found in a house in Brcko, leading to the arrest of three people suspected of committing several criminal offenses, including human trafficking.
