Aleksandar Vucic meets with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister to discuss free

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held talks with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka regarding a free trade agreement, stronger economic cooperation, and energy issues, emphasizing that there is significant room for expanding the partnership between the two countries.

"An open and substantive discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on improving bilateral relations, the European path of our countries, and the further development of cooperation in areas of mutual interest", Vucic posted on Instagram following the meeting.

According to him, the talks focused on strengthening economic cooperation, continuing negotiations on a free trade agreement, and exploring opportunities to increase trade volume, investments, and cooperation in the fields of commerce, energy, and infrastructure.

Vucic stressed that Serbia and Ukraine have considerable potential to significantly expand their partnership, particularly through closer economic ties and better utilization of existing capacities.

Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and Ukraine expected by the end of the year

Serbia and Ukraine plan to conclude negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement by the end of the year in order to eliminate tariffs on the trade of goods, Serbian Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarevic said today after meeting with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Trade Representative of Ukraine, Taras Kachka.

European integration was also among the topics discussed, with Vucic noting that the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of European integration represents an additional step toward exchanging experiences and strengthening institutional cooperation.

Kachka: Europe must be united and integrated

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, who is on an official visit to Belgrade, stated that all of Europe must be united and integrated, in order to overcome challenges more effectively, emphasizing that Ukrainian companies are showing strong interest in a Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and Ukraine.
