According to the statement, "a day after the shameful incident and the violation of laws, human and political rights of our people, guaranteed by international regulations, by the President of the Parliament who prevented Serbian List MPs from participating in the Assembly's proceedings, international representatives in Kosovo and Metohija remain silent. These same representatives, in all meetings with the Serbian List leadership, have insisted that we participate in elections and institutional processes."
"They remain silent as the President of the Assembly expels democratically elected representatives of the Serbian people from parliament, demonstrating utmost hypocrisy and inconsistency," the statement reads.
Serbian List representatives are the only ones advocating for the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, making them "a thorn in the side of Albin Kurti's regime, as well as that of international representatives".
The MPs from the Self-Determination Movement of Albin Kurti did not allow the parliamentarians of the Serbian List to attend the session of the Assembly in Pristina.
An explosion occurred on the evening of November 29 in the municipality of Zubin Potok in northern Kosovo and Metohija, damaging the Ibar-Lepenac canal, which supplies water to several cities as well as the Kosovo Energy Corporation for cooling thermal power plants.
"All this time, a strong Serbian List and the unity of the Serbian people have been a problem for them. A strong Serbian List is a bulwark of defense for the Serbian people, while they prefer a weak, divided, and intimidated Serbian population. They would rather have compliant Serbs in institutions than strong representatives of the Serbian people who will protect their interests rather than follow orders from Kurti and foreign representatives", the statement continues.
The Serbian List emphasizes that this is yet another reason to participate in the February 9 elections.
"Therefore, we take this opportunity to inform the public that the Serbian List, stronger than ever, will participate in the elections. We will secure all ten mandates reserved for the Serbian people, preserve the unity and solidarity of the Serbian people in this region, and demonstrate through the elections whom the Serbian people trust and want as their representatives", the Serbian List declared.
