Governor of the National Bank of North Macedonia for Newsmax Balkans: The First Serbian Bank Is Coming
The Governor of the National Bank of North Macedonia, Trajko Slaveski, revealed in an interview for Newsmax Balkans Skopje that the process of evaluating the offer for the takeover of Stopanska Banka Bitola by the Serbian Alta Bank is currently underway.
"Documentation is being collected intensively, communication is ongoing with the interested foreign investor, and we are also expecting a statement from the Securities and Exchange Commission," said the governor.
Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic stated that the company plans to enter a new development phase in North Macedonia with additional investments of €50 million, aiming to become the leading operator in that country, as it already has in Montenegro.
The Alta Group already owns a bank licensed by the National Bank of Serbia and has developed services in payment transactions.
