Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic told that the partnership with U.S. media company Newsmax is a strategically important project aimed at strengthening the company’s presence and coverage across Serbia and the wider Balkans, while also paving the way for expansion into the European market.
Lucic emphasized that Telekom Srbija wants to partner with a strong European media company and that Newsmax is a highly important project for the company.
He noted that cooperation with the U.S.-based company is of strategic significance, particularly as Telekom Srbija already serves as an important partner in Europe, and said the joint venture will enable stronger media coverage throughout Serbia and the Balkans.

According to Lucic, the ultimate goal of the partnership is a major expansion of Newsmax into the European market over the next two years.
"Over the next two years, we will launch television channels in Germany, Italy and Austria, followed by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. That is what we are working toward. I truly believe there is room in Europe for channels like Newsmax, and to be honest, we see tremendous potential with this channel," Lucic said.
Christopher Ruddy, CEO of the American television network Newsmax, told Newsmax Balkans that the partnership with Telekom Srbija is highly significant, as it is one of the largest telecommunications and media companies in the Balkans, which he considers a leading company in Southeast Europe.
Following its successful regional expansion, Newsmax is continuing its growth across Europe with the launch of the new news channel Newsmax Polska, set to begin broadcasting in June.
The Telekom Srbija CEO also said he expects the company’s partners in Belgrade and Newsmax Polska to remain focused on truth and verified facts in today’s media environment.
He stressed the importance of providing viewers with accurate and responsible reporting, especially at a time when misinformation is widespread and media channels are increasingly fragmented.
"We believe Newsmax Polska will deliver exactly that for viewers. Particularly in this era of fake news and countless media outlets, Newsmax should offer added value - not only in Belgrade and Poland, but in other countries as well," Lucic concluded.
