Minister of Education for Newsmax Balkans: I Won’t Resign, Politics Has No Place at the University
Minister of Education Slavica Djukic Dejanovic stated in the show "Otvori oci" that she would not resign, despite the requests from certain unions and political parties.
"I will not resign. The moment there is a government reconstruction, or before that, those who elected me will decide if they believe I am not doing my job properly..." she said.
Djukic Dejanovic stated that she has a good working relationship with the representative unions and reiterated that 90% of the contents of the 2023 agreement have been implemented.
Commenting on the blockades at certain faculties, the minister stated that politics and ideological activism have no place at the university.
"I urge professors, my colleagues, and all students to prepare for the January exams. A large number of students feel greatly hindered," our interviewee noted.
Speaking about the withdrawal of the law that proposed the arrival of foreign universities to Serbia, Djukic Dejanovic said that work is underway on supplementing and amending its content, and she announced that it will be presented in parliamentary procedure.
"It is necessary due to the competition among our universities. There should be no fear about this," the minister believes.
