The Minister of Labor, Eployment, Veterans and Social Affairs, Nemanja Starovic, stated to Newsmax Balkans that Serbia has fulfilled its obligations and rightfully expects the European Union to fulfill its commitments by opening Cluster 3.
He emphasized the expectation that the EU demonstrate the credibility of the enlargement process.
"Ultimately, the European Commission, as a sort of executive body of the European Union, has provided a positive recommendation for four consecutive years to open Cluster 3 for Serbia. This means we have fulfilled our obligations," Starovic pointed out.
Cluster 3 includes eight chapters related to the information society and media, taxation, economic and monetary policy, social policy and employment, entrepreneurship and industrial policy, science and research, education and culture, and the customs union.
Serbia last opened negotiation chapters with the EU in December 2021.
