Students from the Faculty of Law at the University of Belgrade submitted a letter to the Chief Public Prosecutor, Zagorka Dolovac, urging her to do her job, and she invited a delegation of students for a meeting.
The students, organized, arrived in front of the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office to hand over "a thousand letters" demanding that "she start doing her job."
After the letter was officially received, Zagorka Dolovac informed the students to form a delegation of five to seven people to meet with her.
The protest organizers stated they were not ready for a meeting, to which the Prosecutor’s Office responded by asking them to select a delegation and set a meeting date.
In their letter, the students emphasized that justice, legality, and impartiality in the work of institutions are the foundations upon which any democratic society must rest.
They pointed out that after the tragedy on November 1st in Novi Sad, when a shelter at the Railway Station collapsed, killing 15 people, the days that followed the tragedy showed that, without a doubt, the legal state collapsed along with the shelter.
Speaking about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that every dialogue is better than displays of power and force, emphasizing that issues should be resolved through discussion and negotiation.
