Prosecution in Pristina Files Indictment Against Five Serbs for Alleged War Crimes During Conflict in Kosovo
The Prosecution in Pristina has filed an indictment before the Basic Court against five Serbs, on suspicion that they allegedly committed war crimes against the civilian population in the Gnjilan region during the conflict in Kosovo and Metohija.
The Prosecution claims that there is reasonable suspicion that the five accused - D. C, D. N, M. S, N. S., and S. J. - were part of a criminal group during the conflict in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
They are alleged to have participated in the murder of eight Albanian civilians, armed and dressed in camouflage uniforms, either as regular or irregular members of the Serbian police or army, in cooperation with other unidentified individuals.
Members of the Kosovo Police raided the offices of the Directorate for Construction Land and Roads and the Directorate for Housing and Commercial Properties in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
The authorities in Pristina banned Minister Dejan Ristic from entering Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) on Tuesday evening, the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications announced.
The statement further mentions that for the accused M. S and N. S., there is reasonable suspicion that during the execution of a search warrant, it was found that they were in unlawful possession of weapons.
Kosovo Police arrested D. N, D. C, S. J, and M. S in Pasjan near Gnjilan on August 3, while N. S. was arrested the same day in the village of Bosce near Kosovska Kamenica.
