Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs: Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Remains a Priority for the EU
Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon stated that EU member state ministers will support the appointment of Danish diplomat Peter Sorensen as the new EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue.
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated that a second term for U.S. President Donald Trump would provide a new opportunity to revive dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Last Friday, EU member state ambassadors confirmed Sorensen’s appointment as the new EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue. Final approval must come from the foreign ministers of EU member states before Sorensen can begin his mandate in early February.
Sorensen was proposed for the role by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
The current EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, holds his mandate until January 31.
