Professor Dr. Djuro Macut is the designated candidate for the new Prime Minister of Serbia, announced President Aleksandar Vucic.
Vucic proposed Professor Macut to the Serbian Assembly as a candidate for the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia. The legal deadline for the election of the new government is April 18.
"The new government will be elected by Good Friday, and it will face serious tasks. It must continue to maintain peace and stability, act patiently, and deal with the external factors we are encountering now," President Vucic said.
As he stated, his recommendation to the designate is to choose people who will push the country forward.
"The plan is to return the country to the pedestal of winners," he said.
"Djuro Macut was born in Belgrade, where he graduated from the Medical Faculty, specializing in internal medicine, endocrinology, and reproductive medicine. He completed his specialization in reproductive medicine at the University of Geneva and the World Health Organization," said President Vucic.

He is the head of the Department of Endocrine Tumors and Hereditary Cancer Syndromes at the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases at the Clinical Center of Serbia.
He has furthered his studies at universities in Bologna, Geneva, Uppsala, and Oxford. He is the author or co-author of more than 140 original scientific papers published in leading international journals.
