Macron Confirms France's Participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade

The French President emphasized that he had a lengthy conversation with Vucic.

"I once again emphasized how much importance France places on Serbia’s democratic and European future. I expressed my confidence in Serbia’s ability to find the path to dialogue again, and my hope that the future government will decisively continue the expected reforms and consolidate the very good economic results," Macron wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

He also reiterated France’s commitment to the European integration of the Western Balkan countries.

"We also discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I reminded him of our unwavering support for the unity of that country, as well as our condemnation of any actions that could jeopardize that unity," Macron stated.

He stressed that it is everyone's responsibility to uphold the constitutional order so that Bosnia and Herzegovina can return to its European path.

"We exchanged views on the normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo. France is deeply committed to this. It is a key condition for their European integration. Finally, we discussed strengthening our political, economic, and defense cooperation, as a continuation of my visit to Belgrade in August last year," the French president added.

The Serbian President stated that he spoke with Macron about numerous issues, including Serbia’s European future.

He mentioned they also touched on French investments in Serbian companies.

"We also discussed how to resolve the issue of U.S. tariffs so they wouldn't affect some factories in our country. We noted the good relations between our countries," the president told reporters after leaving the Élysée Palace.

He said we are entering a turbulent time and an era of global uncertainty that will last, and that it is good to have an ally like France.

"I also spoke about the situation in Serbia, and we discussed Kosovo and Metohija. We don’t see eye to eye on everything, but our positions are getting closer. He spoke with me for over two hours—many thanks to him," the president added.
