Minister Mali Meets with Investors in Washington

Protests and street blockades, he said, always remain a concern as they reduce the space for new investments.

"It definitely has a lesser impact on our results at the moment – President Vucic also spoke about this – but every reduction in the growth rate, and our forecast has been lowered from 4.2% to 3.5%, means smaller increases in pensions, wages, and simply less room for new investments," Mali said.

He emphasized that the responsibility lies with those who are causing the blockades, but that the Serbian delegation in Washington, where the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings are taking place, presented the country in the right way.

The Minister added that in his meeting with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, they had an important discussion on the impact of AI on new jobs, as well as on the development of nuclear energy.

Mali underscored that Serbia will find a solution regarding the tariffs imposed by the U.S. administration and said that discussions and analyses are currently underway. In Washington, he also met with foreign investors who are buying Serbian bonds, as well as with companies interested in investing in Serbia.
