EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos visited the Novi Sad Railway Station and laid flowers at the site where the station’s canopy collapsed on November 1st of last year, resulting in the deaths of 16 people.

On X, she stated that she came to Novi Sad to pay tribute to the 16 victims of "a tragedy that could have been avoided."
"My heart is with the victims and their families," she wrote.
As a reminder, at the end of last year, an indictment was filed against 13 individuals in connection with the collapse. However, the court returned the indictment for further investigation.
