AutorGovernment of Serbia Abolishes Regulation on Subsidies for Foreign Workers
The Government of Serbia has adopted a Regulation repealing the existing Regulation on the criteria for granting incentives to employers who hire newly settled individuals, due to the increasing number of employers applying for subsidies, as well as the growing number of newly settled individuals.

"This has made it impossible to plan obligations for the coming years in accordance with the current regulation, which stipulates that funds are to be paid out up to the level of available budget resources, in line with the Budget Law for the years in which the incentives are disbursed," the Government stated.
The statement adds that employers who hire newly settled individuals may still exercise the right to tax relief, in the form of a reduced income tax base for newly settled taxpayers, in accordance with the Law on Personal Income Tax.
