By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, six individuals have been arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of Preparation of Acts Against the Constitutional Order and Security of Serbia, under Article 320 in connection with Article 309 of the Criminal Code.
According to a statement from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office, the first to be arrested were I. M, N. A, and B. M.
"There are grounds to suspect that the aforementioned suspects held a meeting on June 21, 2025, at a hotel in Kraljevo, where they planned a violent change of power in the Republic of Serbia," the statement said.
The Prosecutor’s Office further clarified that the suspects agreed not to return home until they had "killed or destroyed" representatives of state institutions. They reportedly announced their intention to use firearms, discussed attacking police officers in order to disarm them, and planned a violent intrusion into the Government building and other institutions, as well as media outlets such as Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), Happy TV, and Informer.
In a Skoda vehicle driven by I. M, a CZ 765 pistol with a filed-off serial number was found in a bag, along with a magazine containing seven rounds and a factory box with 25 rounds of matching ammunition, the Prosecutor’s Office reported.
Aleksandar I. was also arrested for the criminal offense of Preparatory Acts for the Overthrow of the Constitutional Order, while in Belgrade, V. K. (55) from Kraljevo was arrested after a crossbow was found in his possession.
The sixth person arrested in the joint operation of the Security Information Agency (BIA), Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), and the Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade is S. G, a suspended police officer.
Gert Jan Kopman, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, is on a working visit to Belgrade.
