The central Vidovdan commemoration in Kosovo and Metohija began with a Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Gracanica Monastery, officiated by Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral, along with several bishops and metropolitans of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
In his sermon during the liturgy, Metropolitan Joanikije emphasized that no believing Serb thinks Kosovo and Metohija is lost.
Joanikije said that everyone who visits the holy sites in Kosovo and Metohija leaves enriched, uplifted, and encouraged, and that he is inspired by the perseverance of the Serbian people.

The liturgy was attended by a large number of faithful from all parts of Serbia and the region, as well as representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the Serbian List, and local governments.
At the entrance to the memorial complex at Gazimestan, the Kosovo Police erected metal barriers and are individually checking visitors. Police arrested fifteen Serbs at Gazimestan for singing patriotic songs, including a girl.

In the courtyard of the Gracanica Monastery, Metropolitan Teodosije of Raska and Prizren awarded the "Mother of Nine Jugovic" order to mothers with four or more children, while Milena Parlic, Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, handed out financial aid.
A total of 10 gold orders were awarded to mothers with five or more children, and 42 mothers with four children received silver orders.
