Minister Starovic: Serbia Committed to the EU Integration Process

Starovic said that the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans is already showing initial results, as Serbia has joined the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), discussions are ongoing about expanding green transport corridors toward EU member states, joining ACAA agreements, and enabling citizens of the region to use "roaming like at home" while in the EU.

"These are all areas that form the core of internal market reforms in Serbia, but also the core logic of European integration," said Minister Starovic.

He reminded that the European Commission has, since 2021, assessed that Serbia is ready to open Cluster 3, which includes competition rules and inclusive growth, and emphasized that Serbia expects further support from member states to accelerate this process.

According to him, progress in Cluster 2, which concerns the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor, brings immediate benefits to the domestic economy and increasingly integrates it into the EU's internal market.

The panel was hosted by North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, and speakers included European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Kristo,

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic.
