Serbian Delegation Meets with PowerChina and CRCHI Regarding Belgrade Metro Construction
A delegation from JKP “Belgrade Metro and Train” met in the Chinese city of Changsha with representatives from PowerChina, the main contractor for the construction of Line 1 of the Belgrade Metro, and with the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation (CRCHI).
The delegation visited the facilities where Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) are being produced specifically for the conditions of the soil in Belgrade.
Andreja Mladenovic, director of “Belgrade Metro and Train,” stated that the machines will be delivered to Serbia in the second half of 2026 and that the metro construction will be at the highest level.

This segment of the visit to China is considered important, as JKP “Belgrade Metro and Train” will become familiar with the complete methodology, details, and procedures of the machine production process, firsthand.
Han Jinping, project leader for the construction of Belgrade Metro Line 1, said that the metro project is very important for PowerChina because, as he stated, it is a project that the citizens of Serbia have been waiting for decades.
