President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that salaries for workers in the education and healthcare sectors will be increased by 5% starting October 1st .

Speaking on TV Blic, Vucic noted that a salary increase for education workers had been agreed with the teachers’ unions back in February.
"From October 1st , salaries for education workers will be increased by 5%. That’s what was agreed, although every time it happens outside of January 1st, it is considered an extraordinary increase," Vucic said.
The President of Serbia said he is always ready to talk with those who, as he put it, have been blocking public life in Serbia for the past 10 months. He reminded that he had already called for dialogue on numerous occasions, the first time being in December 2024.
