The President of Serbia said he is always ready to talk with those who, as he put it, have been blocking public life in Serbia for the past 10 months. He reminded that he had already called for dialogue on numerous occasions, the first time being in December 2024.
Vucic said he initially called for dialogue on December 11th , when efforts to meet the demands of protesting students began - at the time, the protesters were not yet clearly identified as blockers.
"Even then, I said - and I was almost certain, having understood this was a colored revolution - that they would not accept it. And they didn’t. The very next day, probably caught up in emotional euphoria from their large gatherings - at one point, they had 92,000 people across Serbia during the day and evening - now it’s down to about 5,000 nationwide, they said, 'We wouldn’t even consider it,'" Vucic said.
He stated that the current government has invested systematically not only in armament, but also in personnel and the domestic defense industry, which now employs over 14,000 people.
