“The ban applies to the export of diesel, gasoline, and crude oil by all modes of transport until March 19, after which we will make further decisions. The essence of this ban is to protect the domestic market from shortages and price increases caused by global disruptions in the international market,” said Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedovic Handanovic.

The minister also reminded that Serbia is a country where citizens pay lower prices for petroleum products compared to their actual market value on exchanges, and that the state is doing everything it can to protect both citizens and the economy.

Due to the war in the Middle East, the price of a barrel of Brent crude on European exchanges has exceeded $110, while on Asian exchanges it has surpassed $120. An emergency meeting of the G7 and the International Energy Agency will be held today.
