Stanford Publishes List of the World's Most Influential Researchers, Including 110 from Serbia

According to the announcement, among them are scientists employed at the University of Belgrade, with some of the highest-ranked being Dragan Pamucar, Miroslav Dramicanin, Milan Janic, Petar Seferovic, Gordana Ciric-Marjanovic, among others.

The list ranks researchers across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields based on their career-long research impact. It includes both living and deceased scientists, as their work continues to be cited. The ranking methodology is based on a composite indicator.

What is the selection based on?

The list was created using data from the Scopus database and is based on an indicator that includes six citation metrics: total number of citations, Hirsch h-index, Schreiber’s hm-index (adjusted for co-authorship), number of citations for papers where the scientist is the sole author, number of citations for papers as the first or sole author, and number of citations for papers where the researcher is the sole, first, or last author.

Scientific rankings are always sensitive and complex, and it is important to note that in this methodology, the total number of publications does not influence the final ranking.

"Congratulations to all the scientists, researchers, and professors who have achieved outstanding results and contributed to the reputation of our University and Serbian science," said Vladimir Cvetkovic, Vice-Rector for Science at the University of Belgrade.
