U.S. Department of the Treasury Postpones Sanctions on NIS Until October 8th
The U.S. Department of the Treasury has issued a new special license that postpones the full enforcement of sanctions against the company NIS, allowing the company to continue its operational activities without interruption until no later than October 8th , 2025, NIS announced.
The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) submitted a new request to the U.S. Department of the Treasury on September 28th for the issuance of a special license that would delay the full implementation of sanctions and allow the company to continue its operational activities without interruption.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met in New York with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he discussed, among other topics, a potential free trade agreement between Serbia and Israel.
According to the statement, this is a long and complex process, and the initial request was submitted on March 14th of this year.
NIS continues with activities aimed at overcoming the current situation, and the company stated that the public will be timely informed about any new developments that could affect its operations.
