Central Election Commission Denies Accreditation to All Serbian Media for Local Elections in Kosovo
The Central Election Commission (CEC) in Pristina has not accredited a single Serbian-language media outlet to cover the local elections taking place in Kosovo and Metohija on Sunday, October 12.
According to the CEC website, the first group of local and international media outlets has been accredited for the local elections - including 29 local and 13 foreign media organizations.
Twenty-five years ago, on October 5th, 2000, the years-long rule of Slobodan Milosevic came to an end. On that day, hundreds of thousands of citizens from all parts of the country gathered in Belgrade, demanding that the election results be respected.
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that he does not intend to run again for the presidential position and hinted at the possibility of holding early elections at all levels at the end of next year or possibly even earlier.
Media outlets denied accreditation by the CEC include: Tanjug Agency, RTS, Kosovo Online, RTV PULS, TV Most, Kontakt Kosovska Mitrovica, Plus Radio, Prva TV, Radio Kim, Gracanica Online, TV Gracanica, Mondo/Kurir TV, Insajder TV, Nina Media Clipping, RTV Vojvodina, MTVA - Hungarian State Television, Radio KM, Alternativna, TV Herc, VideoPlus, Nova, Media Center Caglavica, and Danas.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has removed former President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Serb member of the Presidency Zeljka Cvijanović, and Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandic from its sanctions list.
According to information obtained unofficially by Newsmax Balkans in Washington, the Serbian government is currently developing a plan to resolve the issue of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) and to have the company removed from the list of entities under U.S. sanctions.
President Aleksandar Vucic stated that Serbia and Uzbekistan have agreed on mutual political support at all levels, from the United Nations to all other organizations, and expressed his expectation that in the future, the two countries will also sign a free trade agreement.

Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut stated that the Serbian delegation at the Berlin Process summit in London has launched a proposal for Serbia to join the EU’s free roaming zone and for prices to be equalized across all of Europe.
The Assembly of Kosovo did not elect the new government proposed by the leader of the Self-Determination Movement (Vetëvendosje) and current caretaker Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
