Dusan Borovcanin, Advisor to the Director General of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, emphasized that the EXPO is developing as a business accelerator designed to connect global leaders, encourage cross-border cooperation, and create long-term partnerships.
Deputy Director of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Mihailo Vesovic stated that the country’s growing profile is that of a regional engine of production and export.
With advanced infrastructure, business-friendly reforms, and a large talent pool, Serbia is positioning itself as a launchpad where innovation meets opportunity, Fortune reports.
The magazine also notes, based on interviews with Borovčanin and Vesovic, that the goals of EXPO 2027 are to present Serbia, showcase the country’s potential, and demonstrate that there is infrastructure capable of supporting business activity in Serbia.
It recalls that more than 50 percent of all investments coming into the Western Balkans region have gone to Serbia, which has free trade agreements with the European Union, Turkey, CEFTA countries, the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as with China, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt.
Fortune concludes that Serbia aims to reposition and rebrand itself in the future as a new, modern country – not on the periphery, but at the center of global growth.
