Macut: We have launched a proposal for Serbia to join the EU’s free roaming zone
Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut stated that the Serbian delegation at the Berlin Process summit in London has launched a proposal for Serbia to join the EU’s free roaming zone and for prices to be equalized across all of Europe.
"This would make people’s everyday lives easier. I think it’s very important for daily life and for improving our connections with Europe and among ourselves in general", Macut told RTS.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Serbia has also initiated a proposal for the Schengen stay period in the EU for transporters not to be counted by days, but by the actual time spent.
The Assembly of Kosovo did not elect the new government proposed by the leader of the Self-Determination Movement (Vetëvendosje) and current caretaker Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
"For example, truck drivers spend a certain number of hours driving during the day, so the remaining time should not be counted. I invited the Western Balkan countries and the United Kingdom to join this initiative, which we intend to submit to the European Commission, because I believe it is in everyone’s interest — not only ours, but Europe’s as well — so that we don’t have congestion at the borders", said the Serbian Prime Minister.
