Brnabic: Several Solutions for NIS Already Prepared
Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic said she believes that during the meeting between President Aleksandar Vucic and Chairman of the Gazprom Management Board Aleksandr Dyukov, the Russian side will accept one of the proposed solutions regarding NIS.
“Several solutions have already been prepared. There are several options that President Aleksandar Vucic will offer to our Russian partners. I expect – and I hope – that they will accept some of these options. All these options, as the President said, are fair, full of respect for our Russian partners, but they all also protect and safeguard our national interests, the living standard of our citizens, and our economy, which is both logical and natural,” Brnabic said on TV Pink.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic announced, summarizing his participation at the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly, that Serbia’s Ministry of the Interior will apply for the opening of the Interpol Regional Bureau for Southeast Europe, to be headquartered in Belgrade.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced, after a meeting with Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, that the company MOL will increase its oil exports to Serbia two and a half times.
She added that she believes President Vucic already has prepared responses for any position the Russian side may take regarding the Petroleum Industry of Serbia and what Serbia will do next in light of those responses.
“I hope that by tomorrow at least one solution will be found that will indicate the way forward, but regardless of everything – no matter how difficult the situation may be – I know that a final solution will be found that will not jeopardize our citizens or our economy,” Brnabic said.
She also emphasized that she believes there is not a single country in the world that, if in Serbia’s position, would not immediately privatize NIS.
