Szijjártó: MOL Will Increase Oil Exports to Serbia Two and a Half Times in December
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced, after a meeting with Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, that the company MOL will increase its oil exports to Serbia two and a half times.
He also stated that Hungary will use all available means to help our country with its oil supply.
"Hungary will invest all available resources with the aim of ensuring that Serbia’s oil supply is secured regardless of circumstances. Serbian friends, you can count on that," Szijjártó said at the Palace of Serbia, where he is visiting Belgrade for the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central European Initiative.
The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, stated that an amendment to the Budget Law will be proposed in the Serbian Parliament that will define the circumstances under which Serbia would have to take over NIS.
Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stated that amendments to the Law on Establishing a Guarantee Scheme and Subsidizing Part of the Interest Rate, as a measure to support young people in purchasing their first residential property, provide an additional 200 million euros of assistance for next year.
He added that MOL, as the largest company in Hungary and one of the most significant companies in the energy sector in the entire region, is ready to increase the import of oil derivatives and crude oil into Serbia.
"In November, MOL doubled its capacities in this regard, and by the end of December it will increase the flow by two and a half times," Szijjártó emphasized. He noted that the recent fire at MOL in Hungary has no impact on the company’s or Hungary’s intention to support Serbia in this, as he said, unenviable situation.
"So, despite the consequences that occurred, MOL will in December increase its exports to Serbia two and a half times," Szijjártó stressed.
