The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, stated that an amendment to the Budget Law will be proposed in the Serbian Parliament that will define the circumstances under which Serbia would have to take over NIS.

Brnabic said that she personally would not support the nationalization of the company NIS, but that nothing should be allowed to jeopardize the living standard and quality of life of citizens and the country’s economy.
"I would not support nationalization precisely because I am economically liberal. And that is why I am proud to be a member of the SNS, because the SNS, as a center-right party in this sense, is fully aligned with such a policy. I think that nationalization is not the right way because it opens Pandora’s box. Once you nationalize, every next time it becomes easier to say there are various interests at stake, let me nationalize again", Brnabic told Euronews.
Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stated that amendments to the Law on Establishing a Guarantee Scheme and Subsidizing Part of the Interest Rate, as a measure to support young people in purchasing their first residential property, provide an additional 200 million euros of assistance for next year.
