Vucic Holds Talks with Marta Kos: "Current Issues in Serbia–EU Relations"
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that he held a very productive discussion with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos on current issues in relations between Serbia and the European Union, with a particular focus on reform commitments and energy security.
"The discussions focused on reform obligations, strengthening the rule of law and institutions, improving the investment climate, better connectivity through infrastructure, as well as energy security and the energy transition," Vucic wrote on the Instagram account buducnostsrbijeav.
He emphasized that they also discussed ways to accelerate economic convergence and open additional development opportunities for the economy and young people through European instruments and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen clearly expressed, at the opening of the World Economic Forum in Davos, a desire to establish full political and economic independence for the European Union.
Serbia’s Ambassador to Spain, Irena Sarac, stated that no one has contacted the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia so far with information or concerns regarding their relatives.
"I particularly emphasized that, in a time of growing divisions, it is important for Serbia to preserve the spirit of dialogue in the region and in Europe, as this is the only sustainable path to resolving open issues, preserving peace, and creating conditions for long-term progress," Vucic stated.
