K.K., the minor who on May 3, 2023, killed nine fellow students and a school security guard at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School, was brought to the building of the Special Court in Belgrade. According to attorneys, closing arguments are expected to follow soon.
The main hearing has been concluded, and the continuation of the trial has been scheduled for May 11 at 9 a.m., when the presentation of written evidence will resume.
"I will not comment on their content, as this is a sensitive evidentiary procedure, and I believe it is not appropriate for the details to be made public", said Irina Borovic, defense attorney for the Kecmanovic family.
On this day 27 years ago, March 24th , 1999, at 7:53 PM, the attack on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia began, carried out without the approval of the UN Security Council.
It has been 27 years since the beginning of the NATO bombing, and the consequences are still present, especially in the lives of people facing serious illnesses.
Attorney and legal representative of three families, Zora Dobricanin, stated that the trial was demanding, emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting.
"We concluded it in the best possible way. It is a powerful mix of emotions – after such a difficult day, I leave satisfied, because we obtained what we feared we might not have", said Dobricanin.
She added that concrete evidence had been confirmed.
"Following today’s proceedings, we have arrived at solid, concrete evidence supporting the confirmation of the indictment. My impression is that we will all sleep more peacefully, as we have received an answer to the question "why", the attorney emphasized, adding that in her view they are "at least partially closer to justice, which is within reach".

Attorney Marko Jankovic, representing the families of the victims, also believes that closing arguments will follow soon.
"We are getting closer to a verdict of the same kind. Photographs and video recordings have been presented, and I believe that closing arguments will follow in the near future. There is still a considerable amount of evidence that can be presented, especially considering that this is a repeated first-instance proceeding", the attorney stated.
Boy Who Committed the Mass Killing in Ribnikar Brought to Court
Miljana Kecmanovic, the mother of K.K., arrived at the Special Court in Belgrade, where the trial against her and her husband is continuing.
She was accompanied by her defense attorneys, while the injured parties – family members of those killed and wounded – arrived with their legal representatives.
