"We discussed various areas of cooperation, from medicine and pharmaceuticals, including vaccines, to Russian Railways and other companies in Serbia, as well as nuclear energy and the energy sector in general. I am especially grateful that we received an extension of the gas contract under very favorable conditions", Vucic said.

The president explained that, compared to the current market price of gas of around $645 per 1,000 cubic meters on the TTF exchange, Serbia would pay about $ 690 per 1,000 cubic meters under the existing contract.

Vucic warned about rising oil prices, noting that the price of crude oil had reached $115 per barrel and that, in the event of an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, fuel prices in Serbia could rise to 290–300 dinars per liter of diesel.

"We will endure for some time, but if this catastrophe continues and a ground attack on Iran begins, Europe and the world will face the greatest energy and economic crisis in history", Vucic said.

The Serbian president emphasized that such a development would require large subsidies and limiting infrastructure projects in the country so that the state could survive.

Vucic also pointed out that Serbia managed to extend its gas supply contract under favorable conditions, with the country receiving 6 million cubic meters of gas per day, with flexibility for colder or more difficult days.

"The price remains based on the oil formula, which is much lower than the exchange price. We will probably be the second or third country in Europe with the lowest gas price", the Serbian president explained.
