"As far as our bilateral relations are concerned, we also talked about how to further improve the environments where Slovaks live, the establishment of flight routes to Kosice or Bratislava," Vucic said.
The discussions also covered investments by Slovak companies and cooperation in energy, as Slovakia has, according to the president, fascinating experience in the use of nuclear energy, which plays a major role in its electricity supply.
Fico stated that the two countries can rely on each other, that Slovakia respects Serbia's territorial integrity, and that it will never betray Serbia on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.
The Slovak Prime Minister also added that they respect the fact that Serbia is currently in pre-accession talks with the EU.
"It is up to you and your sovereign decision to choose which path to take, but I would like to offer the unique experience of Slovakia from the accession negotiations, which in 2004 resulted in Slovakia joining the European Union. We made tragic mistakes during the accession process that weakened our energy security," Fico said.
Fico emphasized that he would like the relations between the two countries to be based on mutual trust and historical ties. He also congratulated Vucic on Serbia’s outstanding economic successes and on the independent and sovereign policy the country is pursuing, which is open to all parts of the world.
After the meeting between Vucic and Fico, a meeting of the two countries' delegations followed, along with a Serbian - Slovak business forum and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development.
